Thanks to Balance of Performance (BOP) rules, the Cadillac's 5.5-liter cross plane-crank, 8800-rpm V-8 is limited in output thanks to a restrictor plate — and its electric hybrid motor is also turned down. But there are no BOP rules on the road, so the Cadillac team turned the wick all the way up. Meanwhile, the road cars were vying for a chance to race the Cadillac. The Ferrari 296 GTB with Assetto Fiorano (sport) package comes with Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires to deal with the 818 hp from its twin-turbo, 120º 3-liter V-6 and electric motors. The McLaren 720S uses a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter flat-plane-crank V8. And the rear-engined Porsche 911 sends its 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six's power to all four wheels, with a blazing launch that'll keep up with a 1500-hp Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport to 60 mph. But can any of them keep up with a Le Mans car? And what about in a rolling race from the Cadillac's 60-kph pit-speed limiter? Ferrari E-BUILDING - NEXT-GEN Exotic Car Manufacturing PLANT
Thanks to e-building, Ferrari strengthens its production flexibility, in line with the strategy of privileging the quality of revenues over quantity. The plant also reflects the principle of technological neutrality, as it will host the production and development of internal combustion engines, hybrid engines and new electric motors, each capable of guaranteeing the driving emotions typical of Ferrari. The integration of the production of the entire range in a single building will allow Ferrari to reorganize and reallocate all production activities more efficiently between the structures already present in Maranello, increasing the ability to quickly adapt to production needs. In the e-building, a cutting-edge technology, strategic electrical components will also be produced, of great importance for differentiating Ferrari's technology and performance: high-voltage battery, axle and electric motor. The building, designed to achieve the highest levels of energy performance, is powered - among other sources - by more than 3,000 1.3 MW solar panels installed on the roof. With the shutdown of the trigeneration plant[1], expected by the end of the year, the building will be entirely powered by renewable energy, generated from both internal and external sources with a guarantee of origin.[[2]] Various cutting-edge solutions have been adopted for the reuse of energy and rainwater in the production cycle. For example, more than 60% of the energy used for battery and motor tests will be recovered via accumulators and redirected to power new processes. The factory was built north of the Ferrari campus, which is undergoing expansion. The area was acquired and redeveloped without land consumption by replacing obsolete industrial structures with high energy dispersion. The training and well-being of workers were priorities in the design of the building, which houses a space dedicated to training. The educational path for the people selected for the new lines began two years ago, with the aim of deepening the characteristics and processes linked to the new systems and products as well as strengthening knowledge relating to the electric motor. In full continuity and synergy with the mechanical and electronic skills that have always been Ferrari's heritage, skills have been developed in the field of chemistry and some processes such as battery assembly. The plants are equipped with collaborative robots, which adapt their behavior based on the operator's needs, and digital twins, which create a digital replica of products and processes. These solutions allow technology to be put under the control and at the service of workers, whose role is thus further elevated within the production process with the aim of ensuring the excellence and attention to detail that distinguish the Ferrari range. Furthermore, various solutions have been designed in the plant to improve the well-being of people in the work environment: ergonomic workstations, green and relaxation areas, acoustic and visual comfort with the correct mix of natural and artificial lighting are the most valued aspects. The e-building is a confirmation of Ferrari's central role in the local industrial landscape. A role strengthened by continuous investments made in harmony with the specific needs of the local community. The integration of the building into the urban context was perfected through an urban redevelopment of over 100,000 m2 and a redesign of the road infrastructure. In fact, a road serving the site and a 1.5 km cycle path connected to the city network have been built. Launching in its latest global specification, the bZ4X draws on more than a quarter of a century of Toyota leadership in hybrid vehicles. The bZ4X represents another important step in the multi-pathway approach to electrification that includes a range of technologies The bZ4X is the first Toyota to use the new BEV-dedicated e-TNGA platform, which has been designed and optimised for a new range of electric vehicles.
